I have used the Art Explosion clipart collection for many years, it is the best and only product I've needed!! Whether I need some photos for a website or clipart for a flyer, I go directly to these books. They are pretty well organized and extremely thorough - there hasn't been anything I've need that I haven't found here! It's kind of a bummer that the catalogues are black and white, but it is 2000 pages, so I understand why it's not color. I wish there were more of the high-res images, because the low-res images aren't that great, but they're definitely usable for non-professional projects. The vector EPS images aren't preview-able in Photoshop, and the catalog viewer that ships with the CDs is not 10.5 compatible. However, if you email the Nova support site, they will email you a link to a FREE download of the Extensis Portfolio Browser that works perfectly! I have thought about getting a new clipart collection, but then I think - why?? There's absolutely nothing wrong with the 750,000 images I already have!

I brought this product to use in my graphic design projects, and have got to say I'm disappointed. The content of the cds might be nice if I could ever access it. It takes FOREVER to open the folders on the cd, like almost over a minute and I'm using a brand new, very fast Mac Pro. And while it's accessing the cd it sounds like it's chewing up the cd player. Not great when you're on a tight deadline and every minute counts. The portfolio browser could be better too, the samples are pretty small, better than what is in the book they provided, but still, cumbersome to use, and some features of it make it crash often.

Most of the images are vector images and can be edited in Adobe Illustrator or another program like it. Vector images can be enlarged to any size without loss of resolution. This library comes in handy especially when you need something quick. If you are not happy with the art the way it is, you can always change it Illustrator. It's a very helpful tool and worth the low price!
